1 c raisins 1 c currants 1 c chopped apple (Granny Smith) 1/2 c white sugar 1/2 tsp baking powder 2 tbsp flour 1 tsp allspice 1/2 tsp ginger 1/2 tsp cinnamon black pepper 1/2 tsp cream of tartar (not in France) 1 egg 1/4 c water 1/3 c milk Dough: 250g flour, 125g butter, salt, cold water

Mix together fruits and dry ingredients In a well, mix egg, water and milk. Add to above. Roll dough into two rectangles, one bigger than the other. Use biggest rectangle to form bottom crust. Pour mixture into the crust. Cover with second rectangle of dough. Bake for 15' at 190°C, and then 30' at 160°C
